Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker (Dicaeum cruentatum) is one of South Asia's most colorful and smallest birds, admired for its brilliant scarlet back, glossy black upperparts, and pale underparts. This tiny nectar-feeding bird inhabits gardens, forests, mangroves, plantations, and woodland edges across Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Southeast Asia. It primarily feeds on nectar, berries, and small fruits, playing an important role in pollination and seed dispersal. The Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN due to its wide distribution and stable population.
